This presentation will take you through the process of how to think about the rocks and minerals in the world around you. It will offer an easy-to-follow presentation on how minerals are classified starting with simple elements to complex minerals and mineraloids. Our presenter, Mr. Zylman, will take you on an exploration of the world around you and how minerals play crucial roles in everyday life. Together we will learn what is an element, and allotrope, a molecule, a mineral and what makes a rock a rock. Questions will be welcome but held to the end so that everyone can enjoy the entire spectrum of colors, traits, and qualities of the mineral families.

The interactive presentation will have examples of real-world minerals from each kingdom, native elements, and gemstones.
