Internationally famous, Pewabic
Pottery originated in a stable in 1903. Horace J. Caulkins and Mary Chase Perry
relocated their studio to an English Tudor building in 1906, now a National
Historic Landmark serving as a studio, exhibit and event space. Pewabic Pottery
is dedicated to handcrafted ceramics and tiles, many of which can be seen as architectural
detail in major cities across the country, not just in the Detroit area.
